Often when one cannot erase from their mind, a person, a place, a happening from the past they simply confine it there. Also, often refusing to or seldom sharing that with anyone.
In my lifetime I have known such people. Within them there seems to be a deep "memory closet," a memory about someone, a place or a happening and seldom if ever others will know about or even have a clue of such.
There have been times in my life when I have looked at someone and realized deep within them there was a "memory closet." I have seen men with military experiences that I knew there had to be back in there somewhere. Or a family member that I once over heard just a bit of something regarding them that made me realize there was much more. Locked in a memory closet.
Most all of us have such a closet. You? Wonder how often we go there?
