Below is something I wrote September of 2013. Sadly his career was cut short. He died forty-three years ago this Tuesday, September 20, 2016. He was quite a talent. January 10, 1943--September 20, 1973. He along with other members of his group were killed in a plane crash following a concert he had just given at a college in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He recorded five albums...who can forget such songs as "Bad,Bad Leroy Brown," or the classic..."Time In A Bottle?"

Just some thoughts:
Someone has said, “The good, they die young.”
Jim Croce died forty years ago today. He died September 20, 1973 at the age of thirty, much too young. With all the wonderful works he wrote I often wondered what might have laid ahead for him in his career.
Summer skies and lullabies
Nights we couldn’t say goodbye
And of all of the things that we knew
Not a dream survived
(Jim Croce)
“Time in a Bottle”
If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I’d like to do
Is to save every day till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
(Jim Croce)
“Is to save every day till eternity passes away”
And nights we couldn't say goodbye....and then something happens....
