Something I wrote a couple years back....hum....
I often find myself...."thinking backwards."
You ever?

Just some thoughts:
If dreams came true on Christmas Eve
I’d dream me there and never leave
I’d turn back time and make believe
The way we were on Christmas Eve
Like trees I’ve trimmed you’ve never seen
Memories of you are evergreen
Turn down the lights and make believe
You’re here with me on Christmas Eve
Like trees I’ve trimmed you’ve never seen
Memories of you are evergreen
Turn down the lights and make believe
You’re here with me on Christmas Eve
(Lyrics to a Statler Brothers song from their Christmas album
“Christmas Present”)
My good friend Mike (Chumley) and I both are very fond of the country
music group The Statler Brothers. This was a song they wrote and
released some years ago in one of their Christmas albums. This week as
we often do I sat with him, we shared a pizza and listened to this
song.
Later that afternoon as I pulled from his drive I had this thought:
“When you’re a kid you are always thinking forward,
when you strike a certain age you sometimes think backwards”
